Hello, newcomer! I'm Vicki Decem, a professional artist, writer, and all-around creative individual. I graduated with my B.F.A. in Illustration in 2022 from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I've been crafting scented products like candles and lotions since 2020. I started my small business, OctaVicki, in 2022.
Medical issues and being in and out of a wheelchair for most of my childhood forced me away from many other physical activities. I used my sedentary lifestyle to force myself to develop my drawing, painting, and art skills. I've expanded my creative versatility and use it to create holistic art, products, and content.
FUNCTIONAL ART WITH A STORY
I want to create work with a story that uplifts everyone who interacts with it. My products have meaning and significance because every decision is intentional. There should be a relationship between an artist's work and the consumer or viewer. You're not just buying art, you're buying function and getting into a story. Whether it's a candle that asks you to look on the bright side or a golden scrunchie that signifies achievement and success, you're getting an artistic vision and storytelling in every product you buy from my shop and every art piece of mine that you view.
